Howard Carmack sendte 825 millioner spam-mail til folk over hele verden - nu er han idømt syv års fængsel

En amerikansk mand, der har forurenet cyberspace med mere end 825 millioner junk-mail, blev torsdag dømt til syv års fængsel ved retten i Buffalo, New York.

- Jeg håber, at spammere fremover tænker på, hvordan det gik Howard Carmack, inden de sender den første spam-mail, siger Karen Casion, der er advokat for det Atlanta-baserede it-firma Earthlink, der havde sagsøgt Carmack.

Howard Carmack sendte de mange millioner e-mail via et omfattende netværk af e-mailadresser, som han havde erhvervet sig ved hjælp af stjålne identiteter.

Han skal minimum afsone 3,5 år af straffen, skriver AP.

ANSWERING OBJECTIONS;


What is an objection?
An objection is nothing more than a question in disguise. It's simply a request for more specific information. Instead of being taken aback, welcome an objection as an opportunity to provide your prospect with the information they need to make educated decision.
What an objection is not.
An objection is not a "No". It is not an end to your presentation. It's a way for your prospect to tell you, "Right now, you haven't given me the information I need to move forward with my decision."
Why do we fear objections so much?
When we first approach people with our opportunity, we are filled with raw enthusiasm. We want everyone to see the amazing potential of our offering. At the same time, we're concerned that our prospect may "object" in some way, thereby rejecting our offer. It's impossible to know when to expect an objection and the more unprepared we are for objections the more we fear them. The antidote to this fear is knowledge.
How do I effectively answer objections?
– I'm glad you asked!
Millionaires in Motion has developed a Six-Step Process that will guide you through answering any and all objections that may come your way. We created the acronym L.I.S.T.E.N. to enable you to easily remember each step. Each letter represents a particular step. When you are faced with an objection, mentally go through the acronym to remind yourself of the proper steps.

Are you ready to learn the process?

Good. Let's start.


LISTEN, Don't Assume

• Pay close attention
• Don't state your opinion immediately
• Listen to build rapport
• Never interrupt

During your presentation, LISTEN to your prospect so that you really hear what is being said. When you're new and excited, it's easy to overload your prospect with information rather than listening to them. Listening well is a skill– practice it diligently.

IDENTIFY the question
• Objections may sound like statements, buth they are actually questions
• What are they asking you?
• What is their real underlying concern?
Ask questions, if necessary, to IDENTIFY what truly concerns your prospect. What is the question in disguise that is being raised as an objection? If you're not sure, you should repeat what you think their convern is, then ask if you understood correctly.

SHOW you care
• Appreciate their concern
• Agree with what they say
• Understand their position
• Champion their cause
• Put yourself in their position
Once you are sure you know the question, SHOW YOU CARE: Empathize and tell your prospect you know exactly how or why they feel that way. Champion your prospects cause and agree whole-heartedly. This helps break down barriers between you and helps both of you feel as though you're on the same side.

TELL a story
• Speak from your heart
• Tell stories that prospects can relate to
• Use your own experience
• Use the experiences of others
To best communicate the answer you want to give- TELL A STORY. Use a real story about someone who is from a similar background, who had the same concern, and is doing well; your prospect will see how he or she can do the same.

ENSURE they understand
• Get confirmation from them-
-Does this make sense to you?
-Do you see how this will work for you?
-Have I answered your questions?

ENSURE that you answered their objection: ask your prospect if they see how this can work in their situation? Get confirmation that you answered and addressed your prospect's concern. "Does that make sense to you?"..."Does that answer your concern?"..."Can you see how this works for you, too?"

If there are still questions, go back over Steps 1 through 5 again.

NOTIFY them of options
• Give them choices
• Share ideas on where they can go from here:
-Do nothing
-Become a customer
-Join the business

Now that you've completed all five steps, NOTIFY your prospect of some options. There are three possible choices where your prospect can go from here:

1. Do nothing- Make sure they know that it's okay to do nothing. Perhaps now isn't the right time for them. Thank them for their time and consideration. Ask if you can stay in touch with them and periodically stay in touch– times may change. Furthermore, make sure you ask for referrals. Although they may not be ready at this time they may know someone who can benefit from your product or opportunity.

2. Start with the products– Assure that you guarantee them the benefits they expect. Stay in touch, and provide quality customer service; you may have a business prospect later.

3. Join in the business– Get them started: have them purchase materials, fill out the paperwork, schedule trainings, etc.

ABOUT PROSPECTING;

To many, prospecting is the toughest part of building a network marketing business. If you've been in the business for any time, you know that prospecting can be one of the most challenging of all activities. To someone brand new to network marketing, it can be a frustrating mystery.

Why is that?
Well, when we are prospecting, we are vulnerable to someone saying no to our invitation — and it's human nature to protect ourselves from rejection. Ever since we were young children, we have hated to be told no. In starting our network marketing business, we soon learn that because of fear, laziness, ignorance, bad experiences, or just other priorities, some people are not going to be as excited as we are about our network marketing opportunity-and tell us no!

For years, in an effort to balance the emotional scales, network marketers have chanted the mantra, "Some Will, Some Won't, So What? Next!" This conjures up the image of "move on!" If they are not interested in what you have to offer, just "move on to the next person — it's their loss."

Even though this has been helpful in shielding our vulnerability, we know that's not really what network marketers believe. The best of the best know that prospecting is a relationship-building process that usually has to develop over time.

Just who is a prime prospect for your network marketing business?
While some people are certainly better prospects than others, it's usually not for the reasons we think. Because someone has what we might consider to be a "really good job or career," makes a lot of money, or has tried network marketing before, we think they would be poor prospects for our business. While in fact, some of these people become our best prospects!

On the other hand, some individuals we "just know will do great at this," sometimes prove to be our poorest prospects. You see, the likelihood of someone joining your business has less to do with what they have and what they do, than who and where they are in their lives. In most cases, it takes time and follow-up to discover who your best prospects truly are.

The Pipeline Philosophy
Think of a pipeline that over time and space carries a large amount of prospects. These prospects can be people from all over the world who are in the process of learning more about your business. When you contact them, they enter into your pipeline.

As your prospects travel through your pipeline they become more knowledgeable, understanding, respectful, enthusiastic, and committed to the opportunity that awaits them on the other end. What opportunity is that? The opportunity to build their own successful network marketing business.

Everyone with whom you value the potential of a relationship should move into your pipeline-even if they have no immediate interest in what you have to offer. As long as someone has no objection to you keeping him or her abreast of both your personal and the company's progress — they should be put in your pipeline.

Prospecting is relationship building
Why? Because prospecting is a process, a journey — for both you and your prospects. Some of your best business builders can be those who journey the longest through your pipeline, whereas some prospects who join too quickly can be quick to quit.

So let everyone you approach go into your pipeline and help them go through the process. As they begin to flow out the other end, you will have people who truly believe in the value of the opportunity and are enthusiastically willing to commit to it and for their reasons-not just yours! In between, within the twists and turns of the pipeline, you will route your prospects to different areas to meet their specific needs. And there may be a few that over time you may route out of your pipeline altogether.

The key is: Everyone's process and journey is different — be sensitive to each one's needs and concerns and focus first and foremost on building the relationship. Everything else will happen as a natural result of that.

10 Things You Must Know about Your Website

Whatever your business or service, if you want to succeed, you must understand your website. When you have a clear picture of who comes there, when, why, and how, you can make smarter marketing decisions. Here are some of the things you can find out with a web tracking system.
1. Number of page views and unique visitors your web site gets on an hourly, daily or monthly basis.

2. A live count of who’s on your site at any given moment.

3. The date and time a visitor came, their IP address, and what web page sent them to yours.

4. What search engine they used to get there.

5. What keywords they're entering to get to your website.

6. How many visitors have returned to view your site a second time, and how long they waited between visits.

7. What operating systems they have.

8. Which of your webpages is the most popular.

9. The most common browser type, whether their browser supports cookies and has them enabled and whether their browser supports Java and Javascript.

10. Top paths and how they navigate your site. What page they enter on and what page they leave from.

Get to know all you can about the people who come to your website, and what gets them there. Only in that way can you focus your marketing program and maximize your return on investment (ROI).

1. Who are you marketing to?
Someone who would open an email with "president of South Korea" for the subject line, that began ... "Dear Friend, My name is JANG DOO-HWAN, The brother of Mr. Chun DOO-HWAN, former President of South Korea who seized power..."

You recognize those emails from a mile away, but they wouldn't still be sending them if someone wasn't opening them and responding to them. What they're seeking is the tens of thousands of people who enter the Internet for the first time every day.

2. Whatever your market, it's far from saturated on the Internet.

In no other medium is there such movement. If you repeat a snail mailing within 6 months to the same addresses, what percenage of names do you think would be new? How many people tune in to "Law and Order" for the very first time each week?

3. It presents unique marketing challenges.

If you have a product or service that "hasn't taken off yet," you must figure out whether more time and the constant stream of new people would make a difference, or whether it's just terminally a bad idea.

4. This means you can repeat yourself, but this also means you must repeat yourself.

If a train left the station at ... Okay, say you have an eZine that's doubling every six months, and the average open-rate is 30 percent. If you get lazy and repeat the first issue at the end of the first year, how many of your subscribers could your predict would be seeing it for the first time?

5. Every day someone toddles onto your website who's never heard of PayPal ...

...who doesn’t know to scroll down, or how to reset the text size for their browser, who’s afraid to put their credit card on the Internet, and who wonders why that print is blue, i.e., it isn't just your site that's new, it's the Internet that's new to them.

6. We can count on the fact that every day there will be more non-US individuals surfing the web, and more individuals whose first language is not English.

Keep this in mind as you write copy, talk about holidays, and make references to statistics. We are used to saying “the divorce rate is 50%.” We mean “in the US,” and it’s generally understood to mean “in the US,” but those days are disappearing fast.

7. It's multicultural and global.

Start checking on how US-centric you are, i.e.,
Thanksgiving Day is October 13th ... in Canada.
Labor Day is May 1 ... in Mexico.
New Year's Day is lunar, late-January to mid-February ... in China.


And for those people of those cultures who reside in the US and other countries.

8. While we're hunkering down for winter in the US, it's spring in New Zealand, and each has a very different energy.

That teleclass you schedule at 8 pm CST, US, won't be attended by a lot of folks in the UK because it’s the middle of the night over there.

9. Remember co-evolution. Don't be alarmed at the changes.

Yes, the spam got out of hand, and yes, "they" came up with spam filters, and yes "they" found a way around them, and yes "they" called it something else and came up with something different. Staying ahead of the pack has always been necessary to stay competitive. Same game, different playground.

10. So, whether you’re anticipating Thanksgiving Day or Eid al Fitr this month (November), or both, qué le vaya bien.

W32 Sasser Worm

Most viruses infect your PC by an attachment to an email,
and as long as your Antivirus is up-to date you're OK (in most
cases). The newest member of the virus community has reinvented
the wheel with some new procedure for infecting PCs. The 32
Sasser Worm doesn't attach itself to your email, instead it proactively
takes advantage of another Windows vulnerability. This might make
you feel a little insecure or confused on how to protect yourself, but
don't worry I'll do my best to get everyone up-to-speed so you can be
prepared.

If the 32 Sasser doesn't use email attachments to infect PCs then
how does spread, and how do you catch it? The Virus scans
randomly generated IP addresses looking for vulnerability in the
LSASS.exe (Local Security Authority Subsystem Service). Once the
virus finds a vulnerable system it overloads the buffer in LSASS.exe
and installs a shell code that executes and connects to the FTP
server (installed on the originally infected PC) and downloads the worm.
Once the Worm is in place it starts generating IP addresses and tries
to infect other PCs.

In addition to trying to spread to other PCs the program will also cause
a serious slow-down of system performance by continuously wasting
your systems' resources, slowing your PC down and even causing
reboots. The 32 Sasser can infect only Windows XP and 2000 but 95,
98, and Me can help spread the virus without being infected. The port
that Sasser uses to enter other PCs is TC port 445, and the backdoor
ports used for the FTP remote shell and FTP server port are 9996 and
5554 respectfully. Huh? OK, let's go on to prevention.

To avoid infection make sure that you are up-to-date in both your
Anti-Virus and with Windows. If you already have Windows Update
patch 835732, then you are protected. If you're infected there are
removal tools at both
McAfee http://us.mcafee.com/virusInfo/default.asp?id=description&virus_k=125008,
and Norton's http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.sasser.removal.tool.html

Once you have your email campaign underway, the next important part of your email marketing strategy is to stay in touch with your customers and prospects by publishing a weekly or monthly newsletter via email. In it, offer free valuable information.

An ezine is an excellent tool in promoting your products and services. Publishing your own ezine is much easier than you may think. I suggest you spend a great deal of your allotted time and effort on this important facet of your marketing campaign and start an ezine right away. Even if your web site is not ready, start an ezine. STEP TWO: The Web

Once you've established your email marketing campaign, you must put up a web site. Not just any old site, but a site with content consisting of at least 80% free information about your area of expertise. The other 20% can be about your products and services.

A. If you are serious about your web campaign, get your own domain name, or www.yourcompany.com.Without your own domain, you have a strike against you from the get-go. Use our search

and find out if the name you want is taken. If not, reserve it right away.

B. Be sure to offer secure transactions at your site. Accepting credit cards is a MUST if you plan to make money in cyberspace. Getting a merchant account for your business is no longer a difficult task. Once you have it, set up a secure order taking system at your site.

C. Promote your web site constantly. People will NOT find it by accident. You must use resources like search engines and links with related sites. To learn how to get strategic

D. Keep expanding your site. Constantly add new pages. The content can be tips, articles, or any other item of interest to your web site patrons. The point is, just keep getting bigger. The bigger your site is, the more people you can reach, especially through the search engines. Growing your site is a never-ending task. Commit a day a week to it and your business will grow along with it.

Until recently text-based email was the most popular way to communicate, however with the advent of html email you can now create and send beautiful graphics, create clickable links and use interactive forms.
HTML email can have the same appearance as a web page. You can include your favorite photos, create colorful newsletters or charts for your friends or business associates.

It's now often used as a valuable tool in email marketing campaigns.

HTML email has now surpassed text-based email in popularity.

Read this survey on email format preferences and and programs.

Let's first point out the pros and cons of sending html email before we get into how to create it.

Pros of using html email

* Visually appealing
* Able to include graphics, icons,
clickable links, different fonts, interactive forms.
* Increased interactivity with your customers.
* Mostly used by advertisers, however more consumers are
using html email as they switch to faster connections.
* Ads can be more effective in HTML
* Most of the popular email clients now support html email
(ie Outlook Express, Outlook, Eudora, Netscape Communicator,
Hotmail, Rocketmail, AOL, Yahoo, Web TV).

Cons of using html email

* Slow loading due to downloading of graphics
* Takes up more space in your email client
* Not all computers support html email
* Users may not have the required bandwidth or may have
download quotas set by their ISPs.
* Hackers can send viruses, trojan horses embedded in html email.
* Users may turn off the option to receive html email, or use filters
to quarantine it.

How to create a simple html email

1. Open your favorite html editor ie FrontPage 2000, Dreamweaver 4 or MX (you can also use MS Word 97 or 2000 but it tends to bloat the code a little) to create your email.

2. Always use absolute URLS for your graphics
(ie http://www.ihost-websites.com/images/header.gif )

3. Graphics (ie images, icons, fancy fonts) must be stored on a web server to correctly appear in email software - you could save it as an attachment, however most folks will not open the attachment especially (and delete it) if it's from someone they
don't know.

If you don't want to use graphics, you can use colored tables for different sections (ie header, masthead, contact information and footers).

4. Name and save the page you have created (ie htmlemail.htm).

5. Open your Email Software - in outlook express (since it's the most popular) go to create mail - insert - text from file - scroll to your saved html page.

You are now ready to send your html email.

6. Email a test to yourself before your send it to your subscriber list. You may want to send it to your friends who have different email programs so you can be sure most of your subscribers can read it on their computers.

7. Once you have created an attractive html page or newsletter, save it as a template. Now you can just open the template whenever you want to send html mail and most of the work will be done for you.

BTW... If you use an advanced mailing list management script like Add2it Mailman Pro it's much easier to create and send your HTML messages to your list of subscribers.

It comes with a built in WYSIWYG HTML editor that allows you to create and view your HTML message even before you send it out.

I recommend you check out the online demo.

How To Speed Up Your PC Today...
Without Upgrading Any Component!

Is your PC behaving strangely?
Are you experiencing a slow down in the performance of your PC?

Don't worry... I will show you how you can rectify most of these problems without any costly upgrades to your PC. To help you do this easily, I have divided this report into a number of easy to follow steps.

Let's begin...

Step 1:

Spywares account for most of the slow down problems in your PC. This is how spyware is defined by SpyBot, a good spyware removal tool:

"Spyware is a relatively new kind of threat that common anti-virus applications do not yet cover. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you didn't intentionally install, if your browser crashes, or if you browser start page has changed without your knowing, you most probably have spyware. But even if you don't see anything, you may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging that is silently tracking your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile of you that will be sold to advertisement companies." So, your first priority is to remove the spywares and other such stuff from your PC. Here are the tools that I would recommend:

AdAware: A FREE, easy to use spyware removal tool. This has been there for a while... and the interface is self explanatory. If you are a newbie, I would suggest you to use AdAware.

SpyBot: A very powerful, FREE spyware removal tool. Has both basic and advanced modes of operation. If you are going to use this tool, please read the tutorial on how to use this program carefully... because it is very powerful!

Run the spyware removal tool to remove the spyware in your PC. Remember to run the tool once a month.

Step 2:

Another major reason for the sluggishness of your PC is a cluttered registry. Remember how fast your PC was when it was bought? Over time, the registry in your computer becomes filled with unwanted values. Most of the softwares adds custom settings to your registry and do not delete them even when you uninstall the program. These junks accumulate over time which degrades the performance of your machine.

Hence, cleaning of the registry will improve the performance of your PC to a great extend. Here is a great, FREE tool that I have used with great results:

Step 4:

"Prevention is better than cure" - you might have probably heard this. Since you use internet, it is a very good idea to prevent unauthorized access to your computer. Hence, I recommend you to install a firewall on your PC, which will prevent unauthorised access to your PC. A very good firewall is ZoneAlarm, which is also free.

Først en tak til alle fremmødte til vores Superbrugerevent i Tåstrup søndag d. 2/5.
Dagen vi alle havde ventet på med spændthed. Hvordan ville vores ”lille baby” se ud!

Alle fremmødte vil kunne bevidne, at det som Jesper Kristiansen har fortalt os om, siden er blevet overholdt og mere til…
Det er storslået hvad der diskes op med til os. Uanset hvilket ambitionsniveau vi hver for sig har eller har haft, er én ting sikkert, det bliver med den teknik/filosofi vi har set i dag lettere at nå, end nogen af os havde forventet !

Der er klar til at oprette kunder og leverandører. Det er dog besluttet at udskyde varesalget én måned, simpelthen for at være sikker på, at leverandørerne har nået at få alle varer lagt ind i deres DubLi butikker til åbningen.

Har I forestillet Jer hvad producenter i de nye EU-lande ville sige til, for 49 euro, at kunne indlægge 50.000 produkter gratis – billeder – 5-sprogsbeskrivelse – og først betale når varen er solgt og accepteret. Transport er klar, betalingsordning klar o.s.v. Samtidig få gratis lagerstyring m.m. se nedenfor!

FÅR DU IKKE SUCCES med dette koncept, har du kun én at takke for det.

Nyheder

Bank:
- Ny bank i Panama – oversøisk. MasterCard løsning.
- Dem der allerede har tjent penge får standardkort til at begynde med. Senere får de, som alle andre der begynder at tjene penge, et særligt DUBLI-kort. Der er en række andre ting omkring banken – 4 % rente på lønkontoen – 6 % rente på opsparing m.v.
- Der vil være tilknyttet gratis investeringsrådgivning og Guld Kreditkort til Sales Directors.

Strukturoversigt.
- Der bliver lavet en ny strukturoversigt, der giver overblik over hele strukturen(din struktur)
- Du kan for dine ambassadører, via et stisystem, klikke dig ind og se

Åbning
- Der er stort set klar – se senere.
- Men der skal bruges to mdr. til leverandører for at være sikker på at alle varer er lagt ind.

Råd omkring leverandørkontakt
- Opskrift på BALA metoden (bruges også på forsikringshøjskolen)
- Forberedelse (inden kontakt sæt dig ind i kundens situation - forstå/tænk/saml oplysninger)
- Smalltalk (brug denne viden når du skal have aftalen)
- Béla (identificer behov) spørg ind til kunden (indvirkende spørgsmål - se senere)
- Accept fra kunden på at han har det behov (vil det sige, at hvis … -----’ja’)
- Løsning (byd ind med vores løsning hvis jeg kunne …) – interessant?------’ja’)
- Accept af at vores løsning – ja hvad hedder..’
- Alt i alt ”what’s in it” for kunden’
- Kan bruges til såvel partnerbookning som bookning af leverandørmøde.

- Der laves brugsvejledning på film, hvor man kan klikke ind på det man er i gang med – så kommer opskriften farende.

- Der kan kun være en ambassadør pr. mailadresse.
- Derfor: hvis nogen deler mail skal de få lavet deres egen INDIVIDUELLE – jo før jo bedre i egen interesse.

Fremgangsmåde:
- først etableres du via DubLi – nu kan du selv gå i gang med at lege
Kunder/leverandører skal
- Downloade sw (shopmanager og SQL database med en masse faktuelle oplysninger)(gratis)
- Når dette er overstået dukker et Dubli-IKON op. Prøv at klikke.
- Melde sig ind i Dubli(via Shopmanager – eller senere web)
- Eventuelt oprette butik
- Får fin velkomst/vejledning
- Indlægge varer
- Opsætte kategorier og varianter
- F.eks. er NIKE sko model xx lig med én kategori
- Forskellige størrelser er forskellige VARIANTER/
- Lagerstyring og advarsel selvfølgelig pr VARIANT
- du kan lægge beskrivelser ind på de sprog du har valgt at præsentere produkter på
- Du kan arbejde med din shop lokalt. Først når du aktiverer ved ’flueben’ overføres til portalen. På denne måde kan du i fred og ro klargøre ’udsalg’

Hi guys,

I am back from Denmark :-)

I have to go through about 2500 emails first - but promise you I will get back with the full story later today :-)

So here is first an Email Prayer for you;


Dear Lord,
Every single evening
As I'm lying here in bed,
This tiny little Prayer
Keeps running through my head.
God bless all my family
Wherever they may be,
Keep them warm and safe from harm
For they're so close to me.
And God, there is one more thing
I wish that you could do,
Hope you! don't mind me asking
Please bless my computer too.
Now I know that it's unusual
To Bless a motherboard,
But listen just a second
While I explain it to you, Lord.
You see that little metal box
Holds more than odds and ends,
Inside those small compartments
Rest so many of my friends.
I know so much about them
By the kindness that they give,
And this little scrap of metal
Takes me in to where they live.
By faith is how I know them
